Accomplishments & Bonuses

We have recently released a new feature: Accomplishments. Accomplishments track how many feats you have completed with your UniCreatures - how much progress you've made. It will check for things such as how many creatures you've evolved, how many families you've acquired, if you've gotten a male/female pair of both types, if you've got a noble or exalted of the family, etc. If you get enough Accomplishments, you can earn bonuses that will help you expand your UniCreature setup.

The current bonus that is available is a "Training Basket" available in the shop, only after 15 Accomplishments have been completed. There will be more bonuses in the future :)

Some pleasant fixes and nice surprises!

Hey everyone,

We had a few problems with the coding - some emails weren't being sent out properly, and the Exalted pets were on hiatus. However, those two issues have now been resolved, and all further updates should work properly. If you have been waiting for an email from before, just go ahead and contact us at the site (there will be a link available for you). Also - Exalted pets are now available again!

In other news... we also released a new pet for Valentine's day! It is available in the stores. It will only be around during the month of february, so get it now while you still can :)

Exotic Pets Released

Great news everyone! The first three Exotic pets were just released. We also sent out the emails to give them to you.

AN IMPORTANT NOTICE: The emails to grant you your donation pets will be sent to the PAYPAL email you use. NOT your UniCreatures email. There is no way for us to identify what user you are through your paypal email, so do not assume that it will be sent to your UniCreatures email - DOUBLE-CHECK which email you are using for your PAYPAL email in order to receive your pets.

In other news, you can expect all sorts of new creatures to come in the future - Regular pets, Rare pets, Exotic Pets, Legendary Pets, etc...

Server Updating In Process...

Hey everyone,

We're currently in the process (yes, even as I'm typing this) of server updating.. that means that for a while (particularly in the next 8-ish hours), we're going to be experiencing a lot of changes. Some of you will have slow updating DNS, which in this case will actually work to your benefit - we're not going to switch the old data to the new server until tomorrow morning. That means that a lot of you will be able to play without many problems for a while. In general, it should cut down propagation times by about 8 hours for everyone (with the exception of people who would have propagated a lot faster than that, which is probably 10-20% of the total people).

The new UniFaction is going to be updated with a new Osimo system and theme. Some of the features are currently missing, but we'll update them shortly after the switch and data transfers and all that good stuff. Prior to the data transfer, the old site will be locked so that the new one has all the appropriate data on it.

Hopefully the transfer goes smoothly. At least once it's all said and done, we'll be on a really awesome server and won't have to go through this process again :) horray! :D

Upgrading Server Soon.

UniFaction and UniCreatures will be upgrading our server very shortly. This means that, yes, that inevitable downtime is coming for some of you. We are going to attempt a new way of updating, which means that the average propogation time will be cut by approximately 5 hours (yay!). However, it won't eliminate it completely.

After the upgrading of the new server, we'll also have some new features in place. UniFaction will have a brand new theme (though some of the features might go missing for a little while as we prepare for the Universe system). The theme has quite a few upgrades from the old system, looks nicer, and won't have that strange signature bug that we've experienced (phew).

Additionally, the new server will protect us from ALL sorts of things. We're going to have so many better setups now that it's hard to even calculate it. It's really tremendous, I can tell you that :)

And just wait until the Universe system is released... Oh man. That's going to knock your socks off.

Noble and Exalted creatures

We just recently released a new feature for UniCreatures - Noble and Exalted Creatures. These creatures are "unique" wilderness creatures that you can find, just like you could find any other creature (though gathering eggs), but are much harder to get than regular eggs.

The chance of spotting them is low: 1 in 45 chance per hour to acquire a Noble (which is different colored and more powerful than regular creatures), and a roughly 1 in 120 chance per hour to acquire an Exalted creature (which is different colored and much more powerful than regular creatures).

Once you find a Noble or Exalted creature, there will be a limit on how quickly you can gather them again. For example, you may gather 1 Noble creature every 24 hours, and 1 Exalted creature every 100 hours (though it will be difficult to find them in that amount of time anyways). This makes it more difficult to find them, as well as more interesting to those who do.

Also, as a reminder, the site will probably be going down Saturday night (or, if not then, probably Sunday night) for a server upgrade.

New Server (already!)

Amazing news, everyone! UniFaction and UniCreatures is now, for the first time ever, getting it's very own DEDICATED SERVER! Even more impressive is the 100% uptime guarantee (through a series of multi-networked connections), a 1000 MBPS connection speed :O, an easily scalable server set up through a virtual rack system, and extremely fast hardware that will make our site operate so fast our heads might just explode.

There is one very temporary issue with this. We have to move to it (yes, again...). And that means that we'll have to propogate again, so some of you will be stuck having to deal with those annoying "Sorry! We're down at the moment!" pages. It's not fun. We know. But on the plus side, you're all getting a vastly improved system that, once implemented, won't have to do that anymore! Horray!

I'm really exited about this. The Uni-systems are growing so fast that we had to purchase a dedicated server. And it seems like it's just continuing to grow faster and faster. In addition to the release of some new pets, we've added some new items as well that we hope you enjoy.

Finally, our new system, Universe, will be possible with our own dedicated server. Though it wasn't possible on the system we're running now, we'll be able to design pretty much anything we want on this host, and a multi-user flash system is one of them. New Energy System

We at UniCreatures have just created a new energy system that will now be seperated between Training Energy and Combat Energy. It was previously tied to the number of evolutions you had, though we decided to take a different approach - one that was more based on your personal development (as it didn't really make a lot of sense that adding more creatures gave you energy).

We're aware that older users had a lot of energy built up. Don't worry. There will be plenty of opportunities to get more energy back as we add new items to accomodate it. In fact, you'll even be able to get items that allow you to regain energy *faster*. Cool, huh? :D

We'll update you with any other tidbits of knowledge as they come.

So much growth!

Okay guys.. it's been like 5 days... we already need to upgrade. Apparently you all love UniFaction and UniCreatures so much that you're maxing out our capacities on this server as well - this bigger, much beefier server. That's the second time this has happened, for those of you who haven't read all the past news.

That means good news and bad news.

The bad news is that the server we're on right now is not scalable. In other words.. we have to propagate AGAIN, and that will mean that the server will go down again for a day or two while we transfer some things...

The good news is that once we move, UniFaction and UniCreatures will be on an AWESOME server, with exceptional customer support, amazing bandwidth capacities, a server tailored to our needs that is also scalable (so that this issue will never happen again), and a performance that FAR exceeds anything we've ever used before. And because of your generous donations, you've made it possible for us! Thank you!
